I was looking at my stock roof rack on my 1997 ford explorer and I noticed that one of the roof rack blind nuts(?) is missing and two other are starting to pull up on the roof. I tried to take the racks off to pound the nuts down but when I was trying to unscrew it the blind nut would just spin. I will soak it in PB to hopefully loosen up the screws.
Where can I find the blind nuts? Is there a better solution?
I plan on putting a roof basket on the top and customize it to hold a 12' aluminum boat. Though I will tie the boat down to the bumpers I dont want air catching the boat or anything else in the basket and ripping it off the roof.
