runnin 35 compared to 33's

I have a 2WD with the spindles and SOA. I'm running 33's with 4.10 gears. The acceleration with the 33's and a V6 is just fine. With the stock 3.73 gears it was a bit sluggish, but the 4.10 gears made go like stock. I don't think you'll need 4.56 gears for 33's.

If you go with 35's you will have to trim quite a bit. For the 33's, I had to cut away some from the front fender edges. I later switched to fiberglass fenders which solved that problem. If I went with rear fiberglass I could run 35's wihtout trimming. I'd still have to regear to 4.56 though. I'm going to switch out the stoc rear leafs for some 4 door leaf packs, which will give another inch or two. I'll do a TT to lift the front the same amount (the torsion bars are still factory height).

If you do the spindles and SOA with a body lift, you will probably be able to get some 35's under there pretty easily. I'd do just the suspension lift though, as I don't like body lifts.

I've got the spinldes and TT/4dr leaf packs. I've got 31s on there (look like bonuts) and it's killing my 3.27 gears, so I'm gonna re-gear once I decide on tire size. I'm in your shoes though regarding 33s or 35s. I do a lot of city / highway driving, and a lot of dates ( :D ) complain about the height. Guess I have a thing for short women too.....
Anyway, I SOA'd the rear, and I'll tell you I feel EVERY bump more than I ever thought I would. Kinda wish I had the $500 to get 5" lift rear leaf springs that go under the axle. Seriously, even with my Rancho 9000s, I drive on the worst roads in America (New England) and every pothole translates into a headache. Just my $.02.

Where did you get your spindals. I am in Fall river MA and hear you on the roads..
1995 2wd xlt 4dr and want spindels up front and not sure where to get them. and aslo if I do spindels up front can I do add A leaf in the back to even it out??
I have to replace all ball joints so i want to do spindels at sme time since it is all apart anyay.
thanks

I got the spindles form a guy on this board.... Cna't remember..... Apparently they go for about $400 new. Not too bad. I did the SOA, so my back end is a bit higher with the Warrior shackles. I need to either put in the longer front torsion bolts, or replace my Warriors with the stock shackles.....
Tough decision.
Do a search on here for spindles. Someone recenty was selling a set. And somewhere there was a link to buy a set.
Don't forget new 3" longer shocks for up front!

I paid about $500 for the full lift kit from www.fourwheelparts.com .

My spindles are from Pro Comp, and they do NOT need longer shocks. The mounting points are still the same for the shocks.

You used stock length shocks? When I called up, the technician said, "No, since the spindle is three inches longer, you'll need three inch longer shocks." After looking at the spindles next to each other, some of the additional "three inches" in height is acheived by putting the hub further down the spindle (which is below the shock mounting point). In fact, it's so low there's no place to re-mount the stock brake dust shield.
I asked the Pro-Comp people to give me the specs of the front shocks that come with the kit, and I gave those specs to Rancho. Maybe they weren't three inches longer after all.....

No need for different shocks. The spindle doesnt change the shock length one bit. All it does is move the spindle down 3" relative to the knuckle. In other words, its just like a stock spindle only the wheel goes on 3" lower. Do a torsion twist and you have 5" of lift but will only need 2" more shock.

You don't need a longer shock for the torsion twist either do you? Doesn't it still use the stock travel so there would be no need for a longer shock.

You can, and people usually do, use the stock shock, but when you do a TT, you increase the distance between the top and botom shock mounts. A mild TT does not normally exceed the limits of the travel of the stock (length) shocks. My shocks (Rancho 9000Xs) are actually a bit too long right now, as I'm planning on doing a switch to 4 door leaf packs and a 1.5-2" TT. Then the shocks will be within spec for normal operation. For now, I have to watch any big bumps so I don't bottom out the shocks and bend the rods.
