It's time to replace the rusted rockers on Betty.

I already have arrangements made for a body shop to cut out and weld new ones in. I plan on Herculiner or equivalent.

My question is which parts to purchase.

Heres the page on LMC truck .

I think I need item 7

Item 8 and 9 say " slip on"

which way would you go?

Love to see a resurrection on a ex but my only input go hurculiner there is no equivelent i have tried 13 diffrent brands. And just a heads up herc wont stick to bare metal so the shop might have to prime them for ya.

if i remember right, the most part on betty that is rusted is blow the rear doors correct? or is it the entire rocker that has let loose. that and do you like the tupperware on it? if you could care less get them to take it off and weld the holes. thats the reason why they all rust, its not that the plastic holds all the crap in, its the holes that let everything into the rockers.

Subscribin'. Tim, I couldnt agree more, the holes allow the water to enter into the rocker and then it sits causing rot (along with the salt, etc in the northern climates). My other SUV has no plastic molding/tupperware and virtually no rust on rockers. Not sure how to avoid the holes if using tupperware though...

Turdle, Curious how much the estimate is to replace your rockers? I was quoted $600-700 per side last year.

I have a 99 Sport & I used part #-6 & cut from it what I needed, cut out the rotted section & welded in the new. I also had to fab a piece for the lower quarter panels.
