For those with the ST or Explorer with the factory trailer hitch, are there any signs of rust? I was driving home from work and was behind a pair of 2020 Explorers. One was a XLT without the tow package, and the other was a ST (both were black). I can see how the blacked-out rear trim makes the ST look better (or rather more palatable ) than the non-ST. But I noticed that Ford no longer covers the trailer hitch. On my 2018 XLT w/ tow package, my trailer hitch is covered in rust but is concealed by the plastic cover. On the 2020's, there's no more cover so it is always exposed. I know this is very superficial but if the powdercoating starts to rust, it kind of detracts from the appearance of a $60k SUV.

The tow hitch on the Aviator has a cover so Ford has not totally abandoned the cover. I agree that a rusty hitch wouldn't look very nice but I'm sure that it can be easily painted over by a black rust preventative paint.
