Ive searched this site and i cant seem to get an answer, What exactly does the sct do? i rather someone with personal experience answer or if anyone can send me a thread link that would be great.

By "the SCT", I assume you mean a programmer????

yea my bad, Ive been to the web sites and i plan or letting james do my tuning. I dont understand how it works and the steps and how much money it cost and stuff, Im sorry if my questions are basic and ive read the threads and stuff but its all confusing if you could explain the steps and stuff like that so i can write it down that would be great! thanks for your help

Think of a tune in the same way as a computer program. You can fine tune it by changing its parameters.

Is the out come of a tune worth the money and time

Some people said that their transmissions shifted a lot smoother, and their idle speed was more on the steady side after the tune. I'm sure that it will improve over all performance, and gas mileage.

Most definitely.

The time is irrelevant; it takes less than 10 minutes to load the tune.

You are correct. In fact I would say it was worth a full second off the 1/4 mile ET's for Techieman33's truck.

For mine, it was the most important modification. The tuning brought it all together.

i watched a video on youtube about SCT tuning, i typed in SCT tuning and there is a video it says something like powertv i think its like 6 mins long if someone gets bored maybe chech it out and let me know if that basically what it does. Thanks everyone!
