Just had my 5r55e rebuilt. Looking at the bill, I'm going to get better gas mileage from not having to lug all that money around. It also indicates that the valve body had clogged up and taken two of the bands with it. They replaced the bands, a OD sprag clutch (not sure what killed that), and rebuilt the valve body.
What I'm trying to do here is add in a filter that I can access easily and change periodically. I'm partially disabled, which makes crawling under the truck a very difficult event, but I am able to work under the hood or access the secondary transmission cooler behind the grille.
Which secondary filters are the best? Can any of them catch smaller particles than the primary filter in the pan?
