I recently finished lifting my ST and looking for some trails here in VA and GWNF in particular. Kazer pointed me to this thread. You guys mind if a Trac joins the group?

That's the place of the actual trail in the gwnf...
If I'm not mistaken we are camping at fishfoods though there is plenty of room for groups to camp at crabtree...
Update-truck should be in the shop tomorrow or wed at latest...

I might be in, but what does everyone think of a 97 2wd, 40-50% tread with rocky mountain all terrains. 3:73 LS rear end and 30x9.5 tires. Am I just gonna waste everyone's time getting stuck? Guess a better question, how much rain ya getting out there? Mud probably = no, dusty/hard packed shouldn't be as bad.
i forgot you all ready asked on the first page and looks like everyone agrees that you should be fine for the gwnf run.fishfoods trails may be a different story
What area you coming from? We all have ran these trails before, pretty basic. I think the funner trails are at fishfoods, but would say some are a more advance trails.me and Will are planning on going up Friday morning from RIC,but think we are doing the gwnf run on sat.
Im coming from bout 45 min north of charlottesville on 29.
I'm not really sure what it can do now with the extra 5 or so inches of groud clearance and new tires. Im gonna try to feel it out this week at some easier trails and make sure I trimmed all that I need to stuff the tires. Ive done real easy blacks in SC and NC before when almost stock. I'm up for trying new things though
