Should I buy this Apten Diablo?

Found a guy selling an Apten Diablo chip for an '01 Sport Trac 4.0L, AT, 4x4. The chip is programed for computer code: TTY2. The price is cheap, but is it worth buying? I would have to get it re-programed for my '97 XLT SOHC 4.0L, AT, 4x4........right? I need a response/answer today, thanks!:navajo:

You might very well run into problems getting it reprogrammed for you application.

I would recommend passing on it and going with a programmer.

Even though I could get it for $30 total? Is there any way that the chip he's selling would work as a direct "plug-n-play" with my truck? I would hate to pass up a good deal

It would be a worse deal to have to buy a new ECU because you effed it up. go with a power programmer.
