2022 Explorer ST
Just totaled my 2015 Sport which I loved. Looking for a replacement I found a 2022 ST. Should I get it? Any issues I should know about? It seems to be the same car including the color as my 2015 just 7 years newer.

Lots of differences. Complete redesign. 2020 was the worst year. I had a 2015 Sport too. I've got a 2022 and so far, just a glitch with coolant temp sensors. Read up on the recalls. There are quite a few posts here about those.

Test drove it and bought it. 2022 white ST with just under 19,000 miles. Gold certified one-owner car. Looks like new. Now all I have to do is figure out all the new electronic stuff. Hopefully it will turn out to be as reliable as the 2015 Sport. Purchased that one as it came off a 2-year lease with just over 18,000 miles. It was also a Gold certified deal and after 6 years the only major problems I had were the electric power steering failing, replaced under the certified warranty, and the sunroof controller failing due to water seepage.

What was the selling price? I love my 2020 ST but I can guarantee that this current generation is not as reliable as the last one. Same goes for other brands not just Ford. The new vehicles have so much more tech and features packed into them and so much more can go wrong with them.

The 2022 MSRP was $60,320 w/401A, co-pilot 360 and ST high package, twin moonroof, premium tech which included B&O, roof rails and white paint. I ended up paying $47,557 w/previous owner adding floor liners and keeping the roof rails for the 2023 he bought, and the dealer throwing in a counsel vault and cargo liner. Plus, of course, being in Cook Co. IL, you have to add on the outrageous taxes and licensing. The sales person said he sold this ST new in 5/22 to the original owner for about $1,500 under sticker, so I ended up saving $10-11k by giving up 19,000 miles.

Good deal by today's standards. 12/4/19 before COVID, my 2020 was 60K MSRP they let me have it for 52K after incentives.

My previous 2020 Aviator Reserve II with 11,599 km (7,200 mi) on it was listed by the dealer for $56,900 ($41,860 USD) and recently sold once the camera recall was finally completed on it. When my 2023 is ready to be returned, I doubt it will have that much mileage on it.
