sweet but im not lookin to blow 200+ on them. wonder y i can just drill (alil just enough to remove the "mirror" from the back side) and place 5 leds on the back??
Be careful, though. I wanted to make my own, too, but a few guys here said it was extremely difficult to take the mirror glass off as shown in that link, without breaking it. You might want to practice on some junkyard mirrors first.

well i installed windshields/door glass, etc and we replaced mirror as well, so i have all the tools/some skills lol, but i also have replacement glass already sittin in my garage that i plan to use. if they work out then ill just place them in the truck if not then hey i still have the factory glass still in the truck

If I were going to try to make my own signal mirrors I would get the pre cut mirrors from a glass co. The mirrors that are ment for a signal mirror application are different than the regular mirrors in that the lights can shine through them. The LEDs will not be bright at all going through a regular mirror. (Been there..done that)
That's good to know, maybe I'll give it a shot. I was worried because Bill seemed to have trouble, and noted it in this thread:

Huskyfan didnt have a hard time getting the glass out of the aftermarket mirrors but I had a hard, impossible not to break, time getting it out of the OEM.
Al & I may be talking about two different things. Removing the glass from the houseing isnt bad but getting it off the backing was where I had my problem.

I am actually about to do this as well. My plan of attack is this:
8 LED's (forget exact size, need to look at the chart at home again)
Wire in series to the turn signals
Mounting them on the outside of the mirror (fartherest part outside of the mirror) via small drilled holes
Holding them in with hot glue (yea yea I know, but it will help seal the holes)
I'm doing this once the weather warms up a bit more, so probably spring.
Whole project should cost me about 30 bucks total including wiring and splices
The alternative was EBay where they have "stick on" turn arrows that mount on the mirror
