:banghead:So long story short My 98 Eddie has the 4" Super lift I went out and purchased a set of 31" Hankook Mud Terrains they look good handle ok and are over all an allright tire.

Heres the issue I have had my truck in the alignment shop three times now, the first two times they claimed that the truck was in alignment, so I went on my merry way. About a month after the first alignment both front tires were starting to feather on the inner edge, so thats where the second alignment came in. So the tires from the first two alignments were shot and I decided to get the Hankooks as well as get the truck aligned one more time for the new tires. "At a completely different shop for my sanity". This shop told me that they were unable to get the truck into alignment because of the lift. They checked the upper and lower ball joints and replaced the inner tie rod ends but when it was all said and done they told me the camber caster bolts couldnt be cranked any further to get the truck aligned.

So end result my new Hankook are getting chewed too hell and I dont have a solution. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction on what to do.:(

A. Did you put new camber adjusters in when you put the lift on? Factory ones do not allow enough adjustment.

B. Why a 4" lift for 31" tires? You could have done a TT & shackles to easily clear 31's.

you need 2.75 degree MOOG camber shims, then have it aligned

You can install the shims yourself and save some $$$, or pay them to do it

Try a search around here, you are not the first to align the TTB after a drop bracket lift only to be leave alignment shops scratching their heads... you need a better alignment shop....see if they are familiar with your beam front end BEFORE you drive down there

Don't you mean torsion bar Jaime? :p:

dammit! LOL

I will NEVER get 4" Superlift and TORSION BARS together in my head

I see 4" superlift I forget you can buy drop brackets for the Gen II

My bad... oh man you = screwge!! LOL TTB FOREVER!! haha

Thanks Dan HAHAHAHAHA

Out of practice these days, usually typing with my son in one hand, doing everything I can to keep him from spilling my drink, pounding keyboard and dropping the mouse LOL!!

Thanks guys for the response, the lift was on the car when I bought it so im not sure if the proper camber ajusters are in there. i know the stock ajusters are square and the aftermarket for the lift should be round, correct me if im wrong.

I was actually looking into doing a Torsion Twist but not until I can figure this issue out.

410fortune If I had the TTB be I would be much happier no Cv axles to deal with but now that we are all the same page, Thanks Dan, do you know whre I can find these camber ajusters you speek of and how much of a headache am I looking at if I do them myself.

I got mine from advance auto on line. You want the -2.5 to+2.5 degree set.
They run around 15 a set. You need 2 sets. The stock ones are pie shaped

The pasenger side is a breeze. The drivers side is a whole other story. The ABS lines and fuel lines are in the way. It requires some carefull moving of the lines to get the bolt out. When I put the driver side ones in I put the bolts in the opposite way they came out.

Will this compensate for the added lift of a torsion twist if I still choose to go that route or is that a bad Idea with the super lift?

Looks like from what your saying I have the stock adjusters, Thanks everyone for your help and Ill keep you updated on getting it fixed.

So small update I've checked multiple Automotive stores and come up empty handed. Can someone point me in a direction to get the Camber Adjusters on line?

They look like this. You need one kit per side--or 4 of these all together.

This is a 3.25 degree kit. You may have to enlarge the slide hole a bit on the frame to get full adjustment. Make the oval hole about 1/8" larger to outboard.

I WISH i WENT 3.25 I went with 2.5 shims and now my t bars sagged a bit more and I adjsuted again... too tall to align blah so I have to do shims again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure you ask for 0 to very slight neg. camber up front. A lot of problems people have is there is so much variance allowed it can be "in spec" but still tear up tires. The focus', or atleast the early 2k focus' allow just over 2 deg of negative camber in the rear, and people wonder why their tires are chewed up...

Thank you eveyrone for you help hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can purchase the new bolts and update everyone on getting it aligned properly

Good eye Jon on the 3.25s - I have the standard MOOG 1 1/4 adjusters and that's not enough. I just placed an order for 2 sets, will see what happens.

Update: So got the New cam bolts today I will try to take some pictures and such during the installation. Im curious of the outcome with the 4" Super lift thats currently on the vehicle.

Totally forgot to post back, those 3.25 adjusters are BS, they are the same exact shape as the MOOGs, just more expensive.

If anyone needs a set, mine are for sale.

you can get the the 3.25's at pepboys part no. 44-678 from northstar mfg.

3.25 alignment bolts

correction, part no. 44 768 from northstar mfg at pepboys or any other auto parts store

Take a look at the ones on the truck now. If they are brass colored they are the superlift ones, and there is no point in tearing everything apart. Superlift, at least mine, had a degree stamp on them that is pretty visible. It'd be worth checking out
