When I park my explorer on a hill with the front lower than the back lately it doesn't like to start right away. Normally I only have to hold the key for about a second to start it on level ground, If I'm on a hill though it could take up to 4 or 5 seconds. I recently changed the plugs and fuel filter hoping that might be it but it didn't help. And again, It only happens on hills. It's an 03 V6 with 65,000 on the clock. Any Clues on this one? Thanks

i know this may sound dumb but...

the fuel pump and such are at the back of the tank, and when you park nose down, all the gas goes to the front of the tank slowely. so when you come back, it may be running on fumes.

i always park rear end down or level.

this would only be a problem if it you kept your gas tank at like 1/4

To me that makes perfect sense. I also noticed it does seem to only happen what I'm below 3/8's of a tank. I just didn't think it could be something that simple.

thats probably what it is :P, least you didn't run it out of gas :P.

nothing worst then parking on a hill and "running out of gas" lol

Careful!! once that sstarts to happen its not long before the fuel pump goes out.

if they sit fr a while without being used, or if you run them when the tank is empty/low (like on a hill) the pump will start wearing out... so try not to do this to your truck!!!

the fuel cools and lubes the fuel pump, when its sucking air, its wearing out...

I have replaced a few in tank pumps after they sit for a bit or if the truck is run out of gas a few times (like you my son in law was parking on a hill and his broke as a joke ass always was running it out of gas because his gage is off wasnt long he needed a new pump./... and then another one....etc)

only done it once :P
