look in the sas section.

basically you need to gut the front suspension and steering, add a steering box, add your suspension system and make sure its all tight

also the second gens have no coil springs... so if you want coils you cant just use existing perches like a 1st gen

Yeah. The SAS forum is filled with 2nd gen swaps!

Thanks alot i just have troubles finding things i am still kinda fresh to this site. Thanks again.

Biggest difference is the steering box. TTB has one IFS does not, so this must be added.

Hey Stic-o i have been looking through the sas threads and i cant find a good from start to finish thread do you have a link to a good 2nd gen sas i just cant find a good one. Maybe im not looking hard enough.

You can't look at mine, but if your looking for a step by step guide, I don't think your going to find one. Everyones is a little different.

I was looking for a sas thread which uses a stock width 44 with the bronco radius arms noting to crazy. I have the dana from my 93x and its ready to rip. By the way thanks for your time man.

That is a nice setup i was leaning more towards the coil lift, my other question would be i have most of the stuff from my 93 x sas i started on but never installed i have the shock towers axle and the coil buckets will they work for the 97x and could i use a 93x gear box. Thanks alot. There is a sas on a later style x that is red on this site using coils i seen a long time ago, does anyone know who that is perhaps. Thanks again.

I think you are talking about the 01 Sport, silver, with a HP Dana 30 on 33s. Can't remember the user name though.

Edit: Oops, you said red. Well anyway I'm pretty sure the above mentioned guy has coils.

His was on coilovers though...

I can't think of a red one off hand on coils.

Hey does jefe have a write up of his sas. I know this is a stupid question because i probably dont know how to use this site but how do i find just 2nd gen sas's. Thanks alot.

Well it looks like i dont know what i am doing with this explorer right yet, so i called FST the other day and talked to tori and he is just going to do the work for me. I will post pics asap when i get started. I cut all the ifs stuff off so now i have to figure out how to move it up onto my trailer. Maybe ill take pics of that, it should be fun. Yeah.
