spark plugs

i just got my explorer...97, XLT, 4L, V6, SOHC..and i was looking at the spark plugs...does anyone have any tips on how to get to the plug that is basically underneath the air conditioner stuff ?:navajo:

go in through the wheel well

Like dynamite said...through the wheel well works best...

You can also use a jack stands to lift the front end up a bit to give you a bit more space by letting the tires hang...

Good swivel sockets with swivel and extensions were helpful for me, but mines a v8.

I have a 2000xlt, jack the front up let the tire hand and remove the "splash" panel (I am not sure what it's called). this will open up most of the side of the engine. I did this and changed all the plugs but 1 through the wheel well.
