2 in the morning on a deserted road, the cop was driving home off the clock...and he wrote it up at 53 and i was going well over that

Wow well then I say go do it again, in fact do it all the time! Since you can justify it :)

I learned the hard way, i still speed of course, but not like that, I simply cannot afford to, and 30-40 MPH zones are usually residential and I dont want to ruin any lives when some poor kid jumps out in front of me, so SLOW down, 53 I can see, 93 = stupid.

You should be very proud of yourself for being so stupid. Too bad you didn't kill anyone!

Around 3x the speed limit? Smart choice...

woah woah woah everyone....a deserted back road....in the morning....the only thing he could hurt would be himself when a deer (or dare i say it...wild pig...do a search on it) jumps out in front of him and goes crashing through his windsheild. at least he wasn't racing at 145 on a bike on a busy highway...

Back in '98 I got clocked at 116 in a 65, in my old '93 4dr X, that was enough to knock all the need for speed out of me, I havent even had the '91 I have now over 85. That was the first and (knock on wood) only ticket.

When did the "back" road part come into the story? Most back roads I know of don't have 35mph speed limits. Most, maybe all, of the 35mph roads I travel are business/retail areas or semi-residential. All of the back roads I have traveled have been 45mph+.

How did you get it that fast? I did not realize Explorers could go that fast, unless you had some mods. You were modded, right?

more like your ankles :D

well this back road is 35 for some reason but i wasnt putting anyone in danger but my self and i didnt know a stock 4.0 could do what it did in a short distance

How did you know that no one would be in danger? Do you have ESP? Probably not or you would not have gotten a ticket! 58mph over the speed limit you must be real proud. Enjoy your citation moron!

ok my mistake, i thought it said backroad...i withdraw my comment. and just letting u all know, i've seen many many more fatalities from ppl driving at much slower conditions then from ppl at such high speeds.

Speeding never pays...I'm sure we've all done it so I'm not throwing any stones.. All I can say is thank God I came to my senses and no longer speed. It just isn't worth the risk to speed.. I can't afford the ticket or insurance and the worry about getting pulled over is just too much... When I was younger I would routinely speed as I (like every other young kid) was in a hurry to be somewhere... Finally I woke up and it sank in that when I drive 10mph+ over the limit to get to a buddies house it only saved me like 3 minutes of time... But that 3 minutes of savings could have cost be $$$$ in the long run...

93 in a 35, huh......not bad young grasshopper.......but much to learn you have!....now you must learn how to get the cop to NOT WRITE YOU A TICKET!

But I still have you beat by 1mph, yes I was clocked doing 94 in a 35......no ticket for me!........wife was doing 72 (we were racing).......no ticket for her either........damn we're good!

LOL

i usually do about 90 on all the 45mph backroads here, i mean, its old country roads no one lives around, and for once the cops RARELY bother you on these roads (unless they here of street racing, then they monitor them).. it's the main roads that they'll really get u here. And i know i'm gonna get biitched out for this one, but yes i have raced many people on the backroads in my 04 hemi pickup
