Spinning motor sound from rear passenger door.

Hi,

Have a 96 Explorer Limited. When I try to lock/unlock the doors, all work fine except the rear passenger door. It makes a loud sound like the motor is spinning freely. Of course it wont lock/unlock. By the sound it seems the motor is working but almost as if something slipped off or broke that connects to a stem , rod or someting. Getting ready to pull the door panel to check it out. Wonder if anyone might have ideas.

sounds like the lock actuator has gone to the great parts shop in the sky.
