im at the last 2 top bellhousing bolts, iv tried to get a spanner in there but its too tight, iv tried a extension bar on nuckles but kept slipping off due to the angles, iv stripped the top air intake off but still have no room to get my hand behind there? do i go all the way striping the heads off just to get these 2 bolts or has anyone found an easier way?

transmission top bolts

Hi Sb
I did mine with all my ratchet extensions right from the back of the gearbox, (2 long and the 2 short ones all joined together) just angle down the rear of the box a bit was easy from the back
good luck
ill be taking mine out tommrow also

ill keep a note of what i use on mine tommrow morning ...
can pop over and help if needed ..
..need a lift tho
hopefully you crack it tommorow dude (:

thanks rich, ill be giving it ago again tommrow...

finally got it out today, thanks for the advise guys, what a pain they where, cooler pipes in the way and cables just clutter it, got the torque convertor out and its full of broken things inside, iv got another to replace it, just need to get oil for it now eeek

For when you have to put them back on (and torque them):

You can remove the carpeting and unbolt the transmission tunnel floor pan panel (where a manual trans shifter would go). You can drop a wrench with a simple extension right there.

Or, you can access them through the front wheel wells. You might have to remove the Tupperware.

It's easy for me to say because the body lift gives me 3 more inches of room.

well done sir .....once the trans is bolted back in thats the hard work over (:
my parts are on route from newport so should be ready for end of weekend !
