Suspension Noob...

I need some new parts for my 02 xlt. But I don't even know where to start. I know that the suspension has coil springs all the way around over shocks or struts. The problem is, I don't know the difference between shocks and struts. One of them, whatever they are, is leaking, so I was going to go ahead and replace all 4. What brands/models should I look at? I wouldn't mind a little lift, although staying at stock height would not be bad either.

Depending on how well loved yours are, you'll probably get some lift out of new springs/struts anyway. For more lift, look up at the BTF thread which is stickied. '02's are notorious for broken springs so it would probably pay to go ahead and replace the springs & struts at the same time. There are a few threads about quickstruts made by different manufacturers. I chose Monroe for my '03. I'll be going ahead with my replacement once I get a few lift issues worked out. You could also consider buying a used set off an '03-'05 to save some $$$.
