1998 Mountaineer V8 AWD
I have a 1998 Mountainer V8 AWD. I'm in need of new shocks but I'm getting all kinds of confused on what to get. what brands are good and fairly cheap. I don't do any off-roading (it's mainly my winter car). I've tried a couple online parts sites and I guess I just don't know what to get. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. Thanks

If money is no object. I love my Edelbrock's.

Is there any difference with the shocks for AWD models, all I see there is 2WD/4WD.

nope

the procomp es3000's are a good shock at a cheap price, 100 for all four corners.

I've got a set of Sensa-Tracs you can have for $100 shipped to your door. THey're brand new with all the hardware, just collecting dust. They were a warranty exchange (30,000 miles on the first set, but our roads are horrible!) and I upgraded to the Rancho RSXs at the time.

Let me know if you're interested.

sure i m interested , if you confirm that they will fit on my AWD . i can get them . they could not be worst than the rusty shock .

They will most definately fit an AWD. All the 4x4s are the same, and the 4x4 shocks will fit a 2wd. The difference is in the lower half of the shock body. A 2wd shock will make contact on the front halfshaft of a 4x4, however the valving is identical on both the 2wd and 4wd front shocks.

Sorry... too much information... Yes, they will fit an AWD. You can visit the Monroe web site to confirm it if you wish.
