Ok so garage believes ECU/PCM is bad because it does not throw check engine lights or codes when you unplug maf sensor or a few other sensors. So i got one thats certified out of a exact copy of my 01 explorer sport. Swap them out, go to turn car on, hear fuel pump prime but soon as i turn the key theft and check engine lights come on and nothing, wont even crank. So seeing that im probably dumb, i take it i have to have it flashed or something for it to work on my explorer, or am i missing something. Any help is appreciated

My '96 Explorer never generated a "check engine" light when I disconnected the MAF, either. Everything seemed OK, so I left it alone. imp

Either way figured might try swapping ECU, but im thinking now being its a 01 that i gotta take the new ECU and my keys to ford and have them sync them up.
