Tap into puddle lamp lead?

So I want to add lights under the running boards which only light up when the puddle lamps light up. I figure the best way to do this is to tap into the wire running to them.

Where is the best place to do this? I thought I remember reading that it's a PITA to get into the door and to the mirror. Is there another place I can pick up the wire? Like in the fuse box or somewhere?

you might have to go from something like that but get the color wire (positive wire) and look for it in the dash or check manual for which relay/fuse. then have it go below/along the "firewall" (place between engine and driver).
