Tbars A4LD Temp Guage and Drain Plug

This is a great mod. I ended up just using a universal pod and I still need to paint it.

Here is the thread: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182958&highlight=trans+gauge

...Maniak, what is your normal tranny psi and where did you connect yours???

I have it connected to a pressure port on the drivers side.. but remember.. I have a 700r4, not an a4ld so my numbers will be different (and I don't know where the pressure test port is on an a4ld)

When still cool (not cold) its about 90psi at idle.. and 150-160 in 1st or reverse..

Once hot (fully warm.. i.e. 130 pan temp) it drops abougt 10psi..

...That's a bummer for me...

..Wait a minute, Scott, how is yours hooked up???

We're talking temperature not pressure, right?

My temp sender is in the hard line between the tranny and coolers - the output side. I have a "T" in the hard line just before the hard line transitions to rubber (or, in my case, steel braided.) I should have taken a picture of this with my friend's camera.

...My temp guage is all set up...I am wanting to also do a pressure guage...I seen a pressure guage on your pod so I assumed it was for the tranny..:dunno:

...Or if anyone has a pic of where I should install it would help...The one I picked up came with a plastic tubing...

This picture is taken from the passenger side of the truck, forward of the front tire. The red arrow (aren't my drawing skills phenomenal????) indicates which line the temp sender is in. The sender is about 2 inches to the rear of the arrow.

(Looks like I need to do some cleaning under there! I have new rubber body mounts - just waiting 'til the time is right to replace them.)

...Sorry but I really don't know much about tranny's...We have a great Tranny section here and with the help of the search function you should be able to find your answer...If not, then post your question there...

...Sorry I couldn't have been more helpful...

...On the drive up to Paramount this morning, before this happened, http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231814

...I noticed my guage which starts at 100* was not reading at all...I thought it was broke...The drive is like 20 miles maybe on the freeway and it was 50* max outside...Not until I had gotten off the freeway and drove like 3 miles, made a uturn for half a block and pulled in their driveway, did it even start to read...:dunno:

...I take it this is a very good sign...I did get it up to 165* when I made the delivery up the hill by my place...

...Stay tuned for future tranny bling...

Are you going to chrome plate the case?

...Lol,....I hadn't thought about doing that but I will look into it...:p:

...Naaa, Just got another 11" cooler and looking into a good, inexpensive, synthetic to use...I am also looking into 10" electric fans for this in the future...

...I will also be replacing my fan clutch soon also with another stock one...

10" electric fan from a 92 geo prism or toyota corolla works well as a pusher...

And look into the Hayden Sever Duty fan clutch.. it really cools things down (doesn't help gas mileage though).
