...well, both my broke cobra's i have had for sometime...the newest one is over twenty years old and my oldest one is 30 yrs old...testimony to good quality but they both quit on me this year...

...ok, with 12 or so days till truckhaven's newbie run, it was time to start to work on some addittional stuff for my truck...i got the radio and cb in the truck so i went and paid the final due for insurance, replaced the old muffler that was cracked at both in/out ports with a new flowmaster 40 and a new turndown were the old exhaust broke off, and some other stuff i can't talk about yet...

...and here's a pic of the test fit...about 3/4" below the sheet metal...i hope this is low enough for the flex...:scratch:

So how do you like the flowmaster 40? and what did you use for the front tow hooks? look like you swagged them from a Chevy?

...the flowmaster40 is quieter in the cab than the old muffler which had front and rear port leaks and i'm thinking a small hole in the top as the noise is that much less inside...outside everyone says it sounds even badder than before...
...as for performance, i do have more low end torque right off the bat as the above mentioned leaks must have been worse than i thought...i am also hoping maybe this will improve my gas milage...i only got the muffler and turn down as i had already passed the smog and everything else was working fine...i have to jump it off the line a few more times to know though...

...i don't do the welding....a friend of mine has done my welding for years and i had him set up for a while for the Project X needs...i'm sure we can set him up at my shop if you need some things done...

...r.j., it also may not be you, it might be the welder....1/4" steel takes a good welding machine or, a good machine and a really good welder...most little welders max out at 3/16"-1/4" material...

...then just a heads up....the steal yard closes at 11:45 a.m. saturday and i'm not sure what they will have then...i will be running around busy by my shop tomorrow but i can't tell you what time i wil be in and out..
