"That tree just hit me!"

I never thought I would be posting here, but unfortunately time has come. I'm at Flagler college in St. Augustine, Florida and well last night was just not the best for me. We were at the beach partying (I was DD) and well, it started to pour so we packed up and was driving the group home. Pulled into the parking lot at the girls dorms, dropped everybody off, and was pissed cause my girlfriend broke up with me and just wanted to get to my dorm to sleep it off. With the combination of the tinted windows, rain, crappy ford back-up lights, and a pissed off me I backed up to turn around and well a tree popped out. Damage is below

I know how you feel, though. I was in an empty K-mart parking lot once trying to get the damned auto hubs to disengage, and I was backing up, it was dark and kind of raining, and smashed one of those light poles with the huge concrete base going about 10. Right on the corner of the bumper, put a pretty good bend in it.

Look at my registry, and you'll see what a tree did to the front of my truck, too.

Edit: See it now....damn that is a pretty good hit. You must have hit that pretty hard for that kind of damage.

Yup! Good excuse for caging. Would need to convert to 4x4 first. It was a big ass palm tree. I bought it off my parents for 1800 and did a good bit of work on it. I guess I'm just going to leave it be for now until I get home. I just wish it would at least open. I don't know how I am going to take the hatch off.

What you need to do is go buy a back-up alarm and install it because if you would've had one then that tree would've known you were coming and moved out of the way. :

Seriously though, I also know kinda how you feel. You have to keep anger from getting the best of you (also something I need to work on). One time I was at a King's restaurant in the parking lot and was waiting to meet up with a girl I had a crush on. Well she didn't show and I was pissed off and went to back out of the parking space in a hurry and backed into some large bushes that were on the edge of the lot. No dents but it did put some nice scratches on my hatch.

Ouch man! It doesn't take much speed to cause damage, especially when you hit something so strong. I have lately started really slowing down when I am backing up at night. I am paranoid about hitting someone or something. I have gone about 30 in reverse though during day, haha.

It is really crazy how girls can mess with your mind to the point where performing everyday skills becomes a problem. Looks like it is time for a hatch swap.

take the hinge assembly off, take out the interior panel just rip it off you can go too a junkyard and get another when you've dismantled if you broke clips or something...but after you do that find some kind of metal flat piece the same dimensions of the tailgate secure with bungies or something whatever you can thank of get some auto body rubber hammer's and start beating the crap out of it...put a pic of your ex-g/f's head in the middle of the dent and if you've made it straight by then you would have forgotten about her and relized what a fine backyard body job you've done...

as kyle said i think you can pop that dent back out, metal ussaly goes back to the shape it used to be. i think you need a new bumper though :
