I have worked for alot of manufacturers on the sales end of things:
Honda
Hyundai
Suzuki
General Motors
Chrysler
Ford
Harley-Davidson
The one common thing between all of them?
Things break.
It doesn't matter what you buy.
It basically boils down to the service department in your dealership and how they resolve the situation.
The items you are complaining about are pretty minor and on a 5 year old vehicle they can almost be expected.
I recall one time a customer coming into the Chrysler dealership I worked at and complaining for an hour that the truck he had was a piece of junk due to the poor interior trim. He was thinking of replacing it and he was in to look at a new truck, but he was unsure about the build quality of the Dodge trucks. He left the dealership without buying a new truck and later that day went down and bought a brand new Chevy diesel truck.
He was passing by our dealership in his new truck 15 mins after leaving the Chevy store with his new rig when the transmission failed on the new truck he had just purchased.
To add insult to injury he had to ask us if he could use the phone to call the Chev store as his cell phone had died that morning too.
We all had huge smirks on our faces when he came in and I honestly had to avoid bursting out laughing considering that he just complained to us for an hour about his dash rattle in his old pickup and here he was tail between his legs waiting for the tow truck.
Relax, get the parts changed and enjoy your truck.
Life is too short
