Anything new with the Sammy?

Neh nothing new, its over at the left coast so its out of my hands. But currently its undergoing minor bulletproofing like the transmission mounts and other tiny things. Then a pair of lockers will be thrown into the diff in a few weeks.

holy frijoles!!!
that thing turned out looking GREAT
makes me want to mod the heck out of mine, but i like it close to stock, little DD thing, leaves more money and time for my explorer...congrats on the build though!

The engine was delivered at his friend's shop to save some cash (business delivery) but he's doing the swap at his place - he's got a car port thingy.

He's looked into the rules so I'm guessing yes.

Fwiw

is that even a legal swap in California?

He's looked into the rules so I'm guessing yes.

Yeah Basically as long as the Engine is the same model year or newer than the chassis it goes into then it's a legal swap and you must also retain all the emission equipment that came from the factory for said engine.

and of course lastly you have to run the swap pass CARB's referees to get it legalized or in this case a exemption from smog cause of the diesel conversion.
