i was wondering if the 92 explorers motors and computer can take timing out of the motor if it needs to. I know they have knock sensors and everything and im putting on a nitrous kit and was wondering if the computer will take timing out when the nitrous is on. Any help you guys can give me will be appreciated, thanks again:exp: :

If you're going on the bottle, you better talk to Alec about it. You will probably have to get a programmable chip to replace the factory one.

Yup, if you're shooting enough nitrous to need to take timing out (65+), then you'll need to get something like the Superchips "flip" chip. A chip like this will let you have 2 or sometimes more programs and let you switch between them. I have a timing controller that came with my supercharger, but this is probably what you need to do. The stock computer will NOT react fast enough or be able to adjust the timing enough on it's own.

yeah

ive had a 100 shot on it before and the fuel solenoid broke and i didnt know it, nothing happened to my motor even though i still shot nos for a week or so,, so the motor must of taken out the timing fast enough or it would of had detonatiion, what kinda a shot are you running alex

I'm running a 70 shot from my ZEX kit. I set it up dry, but upped the fuel pressure from my supercharger FMU to add more fuel at WOT with the N2O. When I run it, I back the timing off a few notches on my timing controller. I don't know how the controller corresponds to timing degrees, but it works.

If yours already worked with a 100 shot without you doing anything, then maybe you should leave it alone. A chip will increase your performance with and without the nitrous though. It is recommended to take out a little timing. About 3-4 degrees with 100 shot.
