Truckhaven 2001!!

Rick and the Gang,

Re: Truckhaven 2001

I'll plan to make it, and Rick has a good point about keeping the week days open for spontaneous activities. The are several gppd runs nearby Truckhaven over in the Anza- Borrego State Park i.e., Pinyon Mountain, Carriso Badlands, Fish Creek, Shell Reef and Devils Slide to named a few.

Also, I realize a holiday weekend helps people maximize their available time off, but keep in mind that the Truckhaven and other S. CA. areas can get quite crowded on holidays... usually better wheelin on non holiday weekends and the weekdays either side... the workin stiffs aren't able to be out there.... works two ways!

Hey Rick,
Last time Maniack made up some posters for the Truckhaven run. Are there going to be any for this one? I would like to put some up at the local Ford dealership again and maybe acouple of places around the Bay Area.

Rick That's great.
Hey Maniak, If you still have your old Truckhaven flyer, just change the date and add 2001 and we could use that. Dead Link Removed

Only 6 months to go... :D

Time is of great importance

It is very important to find out exactly the time and date in which this event is to be conducted. Sadly to say my schedule for 2001 will be booked as early July 2000. I have been trying to participate in one of your events for the past two years but unsuccesful between deployments and assignments. Please put out the specific dates early. Thanks

Rob,

MLK weekend is Jan. 20, 21, & 22. That's Sat. - Mon. Hope this helps you plan the time off. Look forward to seeing on the trail. :D

I not only have the flyer.. I now have a graphic artist who owes me.. I'll have him clean it up a little.. and then I can email it around as either a PSD or an EPS file so people can post it around.. I'll have him play with it this week and post a jpg version of it so all can see..

Ya know guys...It totally sucks that I'm from the way north as well as I'll be in school at the time...But I'f I weren't I'd truck it down all the way from Chicago...Oh well...I say the Truckhaven article and it looks like a blast....I suppose I can only dream as of now....but someday, I will make an appearence....Okay, I'm done rambling now.....Pete

Hey Mark,
You did such a good job on the last one, it really doesn't need to be cleaned up, but do whatever you think needs to be done, and we will spread them all over the place. I would like to see if we can get over 100 Explorers to show up this time. :D

Looking forward to TruckHaven 2001!

Rick/Colin- I have July 28th-30th free. Colin, why don't we go visit Rick in Phoenix that weekend? My wife could visit with her parents while we play. Or maybe meet him at TruckHaven if he would prefer?
I had hoped to be in Tahoe that whole week, but I just found out I have to go to a company meeting in SD right smack in the middle of my vacation. Bummer! We'll be back in Palm Springs on the 27th and ready to do some short road trip four wheelin!

Rick, if you need help setting up TH2001, let me know. I plan to be there the whole weekend this time instead of just Sunday.
Rick

Just to remind you the end of July is going to be blazing both here in Phoenix and at Truckhaven. Maybe we could do a run at the Cinders in Flagstaff. It's straight out on I-40.

Flagstaff sounds good. It hit 123 here recently, so anything cooler sounds arctic!
What do you say,Colin? How about you Juan?

When those flyers are ready, I'd be happy to hit the local Ford dealerships here in the Palm Springs area. With it being so close, they might be willing to add to the raffle as well.
Rick

This sounds like a good run to try and get to. Only problem is, its one hell of a drive for me, and in years past I've run a skiing trip for customers over MLK's birthday. I will TRY my best this time, but no promises.

Rick (ExplorerGM), do I post Flagstaff on the calendar or just keep it small?

Flagstaff

Rick,
Your call. I thought it would be good to get at least another "built" truck and another almost stocker so you wouldn't be "tied down". The more the merrier!
Rick

i would like to mailed a copy of the flyer when they are available! i am going to try and make this one this year! i will drive there in one of my Explorers and ride with someone on the trails(2wd)! Let me know when they are available!

ok so what was the consensus for the date on this run? I'm making up my 2001 sponsorship proposal and need the dates, as well as requesting vacation time. I saw what dates we were talking about btu didn't see any official confirmation of anything.

Do you have a 2001 calender that shows tha holidays? I'm almost positive that MLK's B-day is the third weekend in January which would make it Friday Jan 19 - Monday Jan 22. The main runs would be Saturday and Sunday.

Is there anyone that can confirm that weekend is MLK's B-day??
