try this 4x4 problem......

94' XLT. the 4x4 light is on and wont shut off when i press the button. The clicking noise in the back is no longer clicking, its not in 4x4 it just thinks it is, any ideas ive banged the shift motor and im not expericed enough to clean it myself. what could the problem be since i am getting no clicking noise from the back?

the shift motor needs to be rebuilt 90% of the time.
Replace it cost $250+
Clean it cost you some time and some patience.
If you can change oil you can do this.

hmmm

is there anything i could ruin that would cost me more than 250$ if i tried this and messed up becuase i have considered it many times.
