unique dual exhaust- what do you think?

The pipes get really hot back there. When it rains and its cold out around here, the water that my tires kick up onto the pipes steems off. When I shut if off and get out there's steem coming out of both my rear wheel wells. It's kinda cool looking.

its not so much the "melting factor" its the rattling/banging factor. I typically like to keep a minimum of 3" clear. of course u may have to get closer at times, but that is the rule of thumb i try to use doing an install.

I'm cramped for space back there as I posted earlier - can you put bumpers around the areas it might rattle? PM me response if you can, I dont want to take away from Expo's post. So everyone continue talking about his kick ass exhaust. =P

if its done right- you only need a finger from anything that is painted. it shouldn't move around enough to have a problem. i'll post pictures of the hangers my man used if you want later. you need more from the rubber though- rubber sucks.

pics would be great

Hydroxy - click the "MORE PICS" link in my sig and in my Explorer 2 gallery there are a bunch of pics of my pipes if that's what your looking for.

Drew,
leave it the way it is it looks nice and sounds nice the pictures don't do it justice

thanks Brice- i think i agree with you. that and i think i've also decided to do the weld in pan... my self (wish me luck i've never welded anything before)

do you have a welder? let me know is you need help.

Brice- this is something i need all the help i can get on, i really haven't a clue what i'm doing other than that i feel the need to do it that way rather than with glass.

i've had some success with doing things right the first time somewhat like this (look at the rest of the truck- lol), but i'd really appreciate help, tips, and to borrow a welder (one friend volunteered one down in red wing already though, but its a long drive)

i guess i just really can't handle the idea of having any seams back there.

im not an expert welder myself.. but ive done a lil welding here and there at work. depending on what kinda welder your using, the technique is different. im sure memebers here are much more knowledgable and will be able to tell you what you have to do exactly to get the best out ofyour pan. i want to eventually learn how to shave my whole truck, and maybe do some custom fab. good luck

Probably the most important thing to do when welding sheetmetal is to stagger your spot welds so that you don't warp the metal.
