Upper ball joint help.

can somebody please tell me how you remove the upper ball joint on a 92 without a press. Do I pound on the top with a hammer and push it downwards, or do I pound from the bottom and push it upwards? Thanks, Im trying to get the passenger side done tonight.

You USE A PRESS. If you're lucky you MAY get it off without one, you wanna pound the bottom of it, the part without the stud.

Im very happy that I decided to change the ball joints, because when I pulled the axle shaft out I found that one of my knuckles had a big crack in it. But, since im soo lucky and just happen to have a spare 92 ex, I just took the shaft off of that.

Another cool tip (literally) is to put the new ball joints in the freezer (for several hours). The cold causes it ot shrink a few 1000ths of an inch which allows it to go on much easier..
