Got the tranny pan unbolted, now I cant get it off! It is wedged between my cats and drive shaft and no matter what I do I can not get it down off the truck! This makes it impossible to change the tranny Filter! What do I do to get the damn thing off???

Remove the front driveshaft at the front differential.. That should give you enough room to slide the pan off.

The star headed bolts right?

yup..

got them off. Now how do I get the drive shaft off?

With the round clips off, you should be able to push the driveshaft back toward the transfer case enough to get it to clear the yoke on the D35.

pushed/pulled so hard the whole truck was moving and it wont budge

where should I tap? The end or?

Hammer worked like a charm! Now all thats left is everything!! Thanks so much guys, I could never thank you enough. I really thought I was boned! haha. I will update soon.

OK got it all done and buttoned up! Big Thumbs up to myself! Never done any trans work and just dove in head first. It sure as hell was not easy. Being six feet tall and 255-65 is great for when I am playing semi pro football, not so great for when I need to contort myself under my truck! That aside, it went suprisingly well, aside from the driveshaft unpleasentness haha. I put in 3-4 (cant remember haha fried) qts of high milage and then a bottle of Lucas stop slip. Cant really get a read on the dip because of the stop slip being so thick and being in the dip stick tube still, but the truck ran well. Will take it on the open road (where my problems were occuring) and get a read on the dip stick. I have another qt of high mileage in case I need to add.

Have to say I am feeling oddly proud. I dont even mind that my mohawk (see semi pro football player) is sticking up because it is soaked with tranny fluid haha! Thanks so much for the help guys, You Rock.

People jumping in and helping is what makes this site so great. It helps everyone learn and grow. I am sure I will be fielding a tranny question so time in the future and will look back and laugh. Knowing I got the info from the members of this board when I had to f**king clue what I was doing!
