Want Louddddd Exhaust

Ok So I havea 99 X with the SOHC and the dual cat exhaust system... Well I F'd up 4 wheeling and now my muffler is bent like 45 degrees.. haha.... Well the pipes are ok but the muffler is junk I want a lound throaty exhaust and i've heard good things about imco extreme or something.. please help as I refuse to dump 300+ wen more then likely i'm going to break this one too.... Thanks so much guys... sound clips are good!

“I want a lound throaty exhaust>” Easy #### the muffler off and just stick a piece of tube in there and make the thing a straight throe system. You wont get it much louder than that, and will sound like a Doorslammer going down the ¼ Mile.

I new a guy who did this to his old Holden Ute with a 253V8 in it, twin 2½ –inch pipes straight throe system no cat’s nothing and ran the thing on AVGAS-100 and **** was this thing was LOUD.

Lasted 2 weeks till the Cops finely caught him and defected the car, Lucky they didn’t know it was running AVGAS or he would have been up for a big fine.

I got the 4.0 SOHC with 2.5" dumped IMCO EXTREME and it sounds GREAT! It sounds nice and throaty and is pretty loud...I love it

NOTE I took this muffler over my past Flowmaster 50 and Super 40 mufflers

I've been driving mine for the last couple months with no muffler or pipe after the cats...and man that's loud! I couldn't use my cell phone, even with all the windows rolled up. Just put on a single-inlet Flowmaster (70 series?) off a Dodge with 3" exhaust and it sounds great...really smoothed out the rumble while keeping the deep tone.

I conncur if you want loud, run just straight pipes after the cat converters...

i have a 96 OHV with a full gibson catback exhaust. at first it gave a really deep tone but not the throaty american growl i really wanted. i hollowed out the cats and it opened it up a crapload.

if u really want power and a throaty american sound, then u should hollow the cats, which will get u that growl, and the muffler will get u the deep tone. i have a gibson, but i truly recommend a flowmaster super 40 (loud) or a super 50 (still loud but not as bad) muffler

what if I removed my rear two cats and kept the front 2? Spindlecone passed inspection in Cali doing this with an offroad Y pipe.... so I should have no probs in FL where they could care less about anything. What would this do for tone and power on an SOHC?

ok i hadda 95 ohv and ran a glasspack n got decent sound but i always thought **** i should just run a straight pipe.. i should tell u with the intake i have i bet it woudl sound likea beast.... i just dont want it to sound like some derby car...
