Transwerx…. He is a mad scientist with an a4ld

They can be built up very tough using some parts from the later 4r and 5r55e auto
If you get a good hopped up a4ld
Built By the right dude you will be super happy

I had a transwerx a4ld in my bronco when I finally went v8 and it was still working great

That’s a nice limited!

Absolutely not. After many years of prerunning and racing desert those 5speeds live much shorter lives in that setting than the a4ld due to the shock loads from whoop sections. Back in the day guys were bringing spare 5speeds and would swap them mid race 😂
I’m not building a race car out of this one. But there are lots of whoop sections in its future so the manual isn’t gonna cut it. Also, i ****in hate driving a manual in southern CA.

transwerks in anaheim??

any ideas why itd enter 3rd for a little bit and then fall out? local auto parts store has a motocraft vss in stock. i might just try it

It's a loss of line pressure. The problem is internal to the transmission.

Yes Anaheim
There are a few a4ld master builders out there anymore… the recipe is known since the trans has been around so long

transwerks is was the best known of all time.. bulletproof a4ld for off road / desert/ towing use

My friend Brett in Colorado, High Plains Performance transmission is also an a4ld wizard

Adapters exist to run the 700-R4 auto transmission behind the 4.0.
