That's not offroading... That's off everything.
It is so far off everything you are not even in the driver's seat anymore.

So what is "off-roading"? Well to me, at this point in time, its not really about taking my Explorer up some rock face (although that is fun). It is more about the building process, and the skill and knowledge one (hopefully) acquires along the way.

ya know iz, i for one atleast am gonna agree with you on that. Offroading for me the last few years has been every bit as much about tinkering with my pos as it has been actually wheeling

and ill even add to that that the actually wheeling is more about getin out with people i get along with and who i share similar interests with, and all the other cool stuff that goes on with the people ive been on runs with.

Being lucky enough to live where I do, to me off-roading (I prefer to call it 4wheelin) means logging roads into the mountains which lead to unused logging roads which lead to de-commissioned logging roads which lead to; well I don't what's beyond that I usually turn back before I get stuck.......

Could be exploring old mining areas or just a sunday drive out of traffic up in the hills...

:can:

Off roading to me with my Explorer is parking on the grass. But it's hard to see an Eddie Bauer getting down and dirty :D

Now if I still had my '78 Bronco - I'd be up to taking that thing damn near anywhere :D I even took my 01 Ranger and 00 F150 off the beaten path occasionally :D

It's not 'offroad' if I can see a Subaru Outback in my mirror

Wouldn't........or couldn't take a normal car.

That's my definition, too. Dirt trails through the bush, sandy beaches, etc.

offroading to me is taking the exploder anywhere that you probably shouldnt take one, and fixing everything you break and the constant changing of stuff when you decide something might be better or look better.

I completely agree, although i would like to change it to any AWD car/truck/suv.

i think its a little of everything.. trails wioth holes and rocks and climbs and just off road driving... the thing is that being off the road and actually offroadig are two diffrent things.. most dont realize... to be offroading u need to activly doing some thing while off road... climbing getting dirty getting stuk what ever it may be
