I was under the roomie's F150 and there was this thing.

No wires, no apparent function. Just bolted onto an exhaust mount. What is it?

looks like an exhuast clamp with a bracket on it? maybe its one of those extra parts.... and what were you doing crawling around under someone elses truck? prank? ;)

well see it originally had dual exhaust and some one cut it off but left that lil piece:D :p

ok next guess... its an ANTI-rattaler(sp?)

PEACE

yes i know im dumb

He was checking tortion bars, and how they mount.

ah.... sounded like a good idea.......

ahh to answer your quesiton, one already guessed close. It's full of sand, and its to keep down the vibration of your exhaust system.

Makes the truck go fast:cool:

so thats where the millions and millions Ford spends on engineering goes!

Build it, take care of the vibrations later!

hahaha

kinda similar to the dmapers you find on the 4.0L drivetrains.

Lets see, vibration = heavy metal donuts on the axle, and t case should fix it! oh and a shock absorber on the motor mount!! hahahaha

To me thats just masking the real problem!!

Oh well, I may need a couple of thsoe do-hickeys for my rig!!!

Will putting a NOS sticker on it give him more HP?

Thanks Matt!
