I have just never seen a need with a high quality synthetic. I get no noise, no wear and great LS performance.

Jon, why do you use it? Are you using it with a high end synthetic?

Well, to be honest-I first used it to quiet chatter in my awd transfer case-then I have used it in all diffy changes, not for noise issues, rather to help the differential operate freely. It doesn't hurt anything, but sure can help.

Boy don't we love the smell of diff. fluid. ;)

I would use the friction modifier if a had a traction lock. I don't because my Zexel Torsen diff's have no clutches. :p:

I just received the first Amsoil order I made, including four of the 75-90W, and five of the 75-110 oil. I haven't decided about the bypass system unit yet. I believe I'll mount one for my SOHC next to the frame bumper mount. Al, did you notice the price difference in the bypass systems for dealers, versus preferred customers?

Don, sorry, I have never checked the other prices sine I have been a dealer for years. I can look up dealer price if you wish ( just tell me the Amsoil number(s) ).

yea it smelled bad. worst of all it followed me inside like it just attached itself to my cloths. Aldive you wouldnt suggest using any kind of additive when using amsoil gear oil? Any suggestions besides Amsoil?

Amsoil says its not needed with their gear lube UNLESS CHATTER OCCURS

>>AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR® is compatible with most limited slip differentials. If limited slip differential chatter occurs, add AMSOIL Slip-Lock™ friction modifier additive.<<

As Jon says, I doubt that it will hurt anything ( my concern is mileage only ). Use it if you like; I just have seen no need for it.

I only recommend Amsoil gear oil.

I use Amsoil Severe GeAR 75W90 ( Dead Link Removed ).

ok this is a dumb question but im not good with the whole conversion thing. How many pints are in a quart? I know i need atleast 5 pints correct?

Yes, two pints to a quart. Amsoil sells a really slick pump for fluids, about $10.

Yes Alex, I think that the shock weighs about four pounds.

He meant the shock Al, the fifth shock.

I think that the extra shock is for side to side control, minor handling differences.

I was TOTALLY kidding... I said it because aldive is our "good gas mileage guru" lol And yes I meant the fifth shock.
