What wax to use on rims

Ok, so I just got some white saleen rims. I've been told, and read that I should not to put them on during the winter, but I'm not going to pay for rims just to have them sit around for 5 months outta the year. I was told that waxing them was a good idea. What kinda wax should I use? Any special things I should now about waxing them? Anything else I should know about taking care of them?

what saleen rims did you get? I just ordered 18x9 white bullets
