I was at the junkyard today and, since I saw a nice shiny tow hitch on another truck, I thought I'd grab it and put it on my XL. It's what I believe is the factory tow hitch. It has 3 bolt holes on each side. So, with that out of the way, what's the easiest way to get the necessary wiring together, i.e. what do I go pull at the junkyard from a truck with a tow package and what do I need to buy separately?

you shouls have a plug in by your driver side tail light. look for a explorer in the junk yard with the plug and follow that wire where its plugged into. you can also get this from autozone the direct plug in. no cutting wires just plug it in.

KobeJ05's right, look up under your bumper and see if there's a round plug directly under the driver's side tail light. it may have a red cap in it to keep dirt out of it. then just buy the pigtail for your truck at Advance Auto/Auto Zone/NAPA/Oreilly etc. but don't go looking for it at a U-haul place.... they're not too fond of Explorers and we're not too fond of them.....:p:
