I've been having trouble burning the 30A fuse for the EEC relay, and here's where I'm at. I unplugged this connector and the fuse doesn't burn. Plug it in, it burns the fuse.

Update: Turns out when I leave this connector unplugged I no longer burn the EEC fuse, but I have no overdrive and no torque converter lockup. Since all the wiring around the transmission appears not to be damaged in any way, can anyone tell me where the 3-4 shift solenoid is? How about the torque converter lockup solenoid (if that's what it actually is)?

Since I live in the desert with a lot of open stretches of road, I really need these two items working! Please help!

I can't see the wire colors, but it is in the right spot for the transission harnes.

It goes down to the trans and does indeed control the 3/4 shift the converter lockup.

Does it blow the fuse right away? If not, plug it in, do a Key on Engine off test and it may be able to tell you which solenoid is bad. .BUT...

First follow the wires down to the transmission. At one time our wires ended up against the exhaust manifold. Needless to say, when it burned the wires, it shorted to ground.

Drop the transmission pan, and check the internal wiring harness. It sounds like some insulation is bad, and it's shorting against a part of the transmission which is electrically grounded. This has happened to some of our members in the past.
