Which Locker Do You Use??

I am trying to make a decision about what traction aid (locker-L/S) I would like to buy for my 1991 Ex. My wife has to be able to drive it and not kill herself. We live in Mich where there is snow and ice. I left out the OX and the ARB and the Detroit Locker as they are either out of my price range or innapropriate.

I voted Lock-Rite... I'm almost 99% sure that's what I've got front and rear.... and I love em... They're great in the rain and snow... no problems...

I run an EZ locker up front. It works just like a Lock-rite. In the TTB I suggest a True-trac, no pins to shear. If you do it'll be a day project to change them. I have yet to shear mine but my buddy has sheared the pins in his cherokee 2 times.
 












which diffs do not include the carrier

I know that all of the powertrax lockers just replace the spider and shaft gears. Which ones of the the tractechs' do the same IE: which ones do not replace the carrier?
 












Lockers

If you go with the E-Z Locker, you most likely have a limited slip carrier. If you do have a limited slip carrier, you will need to get a new carrier. The E-Z Locker will only fit into an open carrier.
It will fit fine up front in your D35 but not in your Rear 8.8 with out putting in an open carrier.
I have an EZ Locker in front and rear with 4.56 gears.

I have a Powertrax No-Slip in the rear. I love it and would recomend it to anyone. Yea its a little on the pricey side, but it is worth every penny.
 






I just iinstalled a Detroit EZ Locker in the front of my Explorer. I would tell you how I like it but my front axle is messed up and I am unable to tell. But I have been in many situations before when the other spinning would get me out. What ever yo decide any type of locker in a sticky situation is better than no locker.

Powertrax No-Slip and I love it!!! Best investment I have put into the truck so far. It works as advertised and is an easy install.
