Hello Everybody :) How's it going. It sure looks like some planning has gone into this "club". I have a request though. :) Let's slow down a bit. We've been working for the last while on a few very good "ideas". We've talked about dues, memebers, mods, and such. However nothing is set in stone. We're taking what works from others and ideas we like and figuring out a few ideas. I'd love to hear any feedback from everybody, but I wouldn't want to see anything set in stone at this time. If we're going to do this......lets do it BIG

Yeah, I'd join. But like some others, I'm kind a east, but more Mid-West. I'm all for a Mid-West Club, as someone smarter than me stated before hand.

Heck, maybe the NOIEC should expand and become the Mid-West Explorer club... Just a thought.

Back the truck up...lol...I like that...and I agree about the membership fee....

While I like the idea of just the decal fee and all.... I just wanted to say that some of the clubs that require membership dues yearly do so for a good reason.... some hold biannual or annual meets where there is big time entertainment....door prizes.. prizes for truck challenges etc... some even put a portion of their dues in a fund for a sunshine foundation type of thing....(someone very sick or whose truck had some really bad luck) since the sunshine foundation type of thing is totally non profit it must stay in a special non profit escrow account.... anyway....if we don't get that big nor want that type of club...then so be it.... but just to set things straight...no one in their right minds would set up a club like that and try to profit from it....it's a federal crime under the mail fraud act....

We're thinking too much guys. We barely have a dozen maybe members and we're talking about a millsion things. I think we need to just set up base rules and start working towards organization and membership. Hopefully we can get enough so that in a year or so we cna have a nice annual meeting and maybe vote on some further issues. But for now making too many rules may actually thwart our efforts and reduce interest in the club.

PS-I still need info for whoever is interested but not on the page

i agree with doktor about the rules.. thast why i kept them simple
What i meant about the membership fee was the stickers.. i should have clarified myself further, i apologize...

I will now say it
FOR THE TIME BEING...THE MEMBERSHIP WILL BE THE COST OF THE DECAL only (shiping included)

if later on we get bigger and more things come up (organized events) the memeber ship fee will rise.

VOTE ON THE RULES Are you crazy..Most of the members are from Florida...We could be recounting all year....

HAHA...LOL MDRUT IS RIGHT... JUST POST WHATS THERE, THEY ARE SIMPLE AND FINE... DO U AGREE COODINATORS?

I understand what you are saying.
Here's where I'm coming from. This is just a club of Explorers that have made contact through each other over the internet. Some of us have jobs that require us to work every day of the week. I myself am one of them. I work two jobs every day. One from 7-2 (some days I don't have to work, but am still required to be on call) and the other from 3-11. The day job I have weekends off. The night job I have Wednesday off.

The reason I've suggested my version of rule #4 is who knows how many events each year that someone from each chapter will want to have. It could be something as simple as 'hey I'm off for vacation this week, who wants to come meet near my house for some wheeling or a BBQ'. The event would be for members of ECX, so why not have it be a real event. But, I doubt anyone will be able to attend 75% of those.
On the other hand, what if we only get the oppurtunity to organize 2 meetings a year. Fitting them into EVERYBODY'S work schedule could be very complicated.

So if we have 100 meetings a year or only 2 meetings a year, having to attend a certain # or % of them could get kind of hard and end up in a decline in membership. As the group becomes large enough, then a possible mandatory attendance could work out. Different chapters will have different amounts of members. This is why I believe the coordinators should decide on this one.

sounds good. i like the new revised rules.

guys we have to keep it simple.. as far as the gatherings.... if they cant come.. they cant come. what are we going to do, hassle them?... if they are a nice person, i know i will overlook them not being there so long as they actually talk to me and make an effort of contact.
i like C and D in the rules above make them 3 and 4, and try to squeeze in somewhere about the displaying of logos as another rule... " must have the ECX logo displayed somewhere on the vehicle"

opinions?

thats the idea of a car club though.... representing the club, aside from that, about displaying the logos, i do me somewhere on the windows not on the body, i hope i didnt confuse anyone.

Yeah, everyone cant put stickes on their windshields like that ?

Nope...I just failed inspection for my fly-n-hi sticker on my windshield. Had to scrape it off. What a pain.

Oh, BTW, did I mention I voted yes. The only problem I would have right now, is that my husband and I are not seeing eye-2-eye on offroading in my daily vehicle. So if alot of offroading was involved in these meets, it might start an argument at home. It wouldn't be worth it to be a member of a club that I would get kicked out of because my husband doesn't think I should take my truck on the trails until its paid off. I argue that this is what I bought it for, but I just can't seem to win this one....

Just another .02 point of view :)

my ex is not capable of going off roading so as far as im concerned i really dont care if you go or not... i know my chapter where i from will prob not going off roading anyhow.... dont worry about it the attendance rules, they are flexible, so long as you show interest in our club and keep in contact with us.... dont sweat it!!

I i will join, depending on price.

about the sticker.. i dont like anything big.
