For Moab: Kampy and I are going to be leaving the morning of the 16th, and taking the drive in 2 days. We wanted to get there for Fridays run, so we could hit the famouse Double Whammy and Golden Crack. So we should be getting the sometime around 10 on Thursday night. Im pulling him and me on a trailer, so thats why we're heading together. We will hopefully stop in Oakley, KS to sleep. From there its about a 10 hour drive to Moab. Then we will be leaving monday morning, and just probably reversing the trip. But we may drive further than Oakley on the way home. Anyone interested in a convoy? Keep in mind, though, that im gonna have to drive a little different through the mountains, because im hauling close to 11000 lbs. Anybody else want to run with us?

Join what? The get together or the Northern Illinois Explorer Club? Either one is a definite YES. If you want to join the NIEC just send me an e-mail. If you want to join the get together, keep looking back at this thread, I'll send out a newsletter to all the NIEC members soon with dates and times and locations but I'll post them here too.

Even though I've got a Ranger, I'd be interested in
meeting all of you guys if you're interested in ranger
owners. My truck is only 2wd, but I own a dana35 and
a 4x4 engine crossmember, which I'm in the process of
mounting up. Hey, has anybody been to the pick and pull
junkyard for parts? I'm interested in going but don't
know the area, and it doesnn't look like it'd be good.
It's in Summit, I've never been there.
Anybody interested? lets get together! We could all meet
for Pizza some night.

Bob, I live about two minutes from Summit Pick a Part, I went along time ago to get some Speedometer needles for my 70 Cutlass. Found them on a Buick, but I don't really remember any trucks there. I could be wrong though. Check it out, I might be wrong. Anyways about the pizzas, I am a manager at a pizza place so the pizzas would be on me.

Some people have suggested Pizza Hut or similar place for the get together. Let's pick a date, time and place.

Bored_2wd, you're more then welcome to join in. Rangers and Explorers (especially the early Explorers) have plenty in common.

Okay, Andre was the first to suggest a date of January 20th. Anybody have a problem with that date? That's one week from this coming Saturday.

What about a time? I suggest around noon.

What about a location? Like I said earlier, several people have mentioned pizza. To make it easy on everyone, i suggest a place near my house (LOL). Just kidding! Seriously though, maybe something around Geneva? Or Aurora? I live in Streamwood. I think there are some people who live in Bloomington?

In any event, let's get something planed quickly!

Im actually going to be up in chicago this weekend. I am delivering some tires to pete on saturday, and was thinking maybe just a lunch get together or somthing. I know its kind of late notice, but would anybody be interested that? any place is good for me, i like driving...especially my pull rig now!! lol....

anyway...if its too short of notice thats cool too, but just holler out if anyone wants to meet up.

I work every Saturday 10AM-5PM, so those days are bad. But if I can't make it this time, I'm sure we'll have another meeting some other time.

Plus, I want to do a few more things to my truck first. Also it needs to be washed, but the weather has been so cold that I haven't been able to clean it. But when Spring rolls around, hopefully there will be another meeting in Steamwood (only 5 min away from me! )
