Who lives in Illinois?

So the Timberlines WOULD be better. I am just trying to make myself feel good about the Timberlines, because I got ripped off by the Firestone dealer.
Thanks for the link, that is a good site to have on had. It helps me figure out this gear ratio thing you guys are always talking about.

Tires

Ok, with metrics it's totally different.

265/70R16

The first number 265, is the section width in millimeters. Section width is not the tread width, but the width of the widest part of the tire. Usually where the lettering is.

70 is the percentage of the distance between the rim seat and the edge of the tire to the section width. In other words, the distance from the rim seat to the tread end is 70% of 265.

R is radial

16 is the rim size
-----------------------------
33X12.5R15

33 is a rounded number, could be 32.7 or 33.4"
12.5 is the section width and it's also rounded to the nearest.
R is radial
15 is the rim size

For example a BFG MT 33x12.5R15 is actually 32.94x12.8R15

LT stands for Light Truck

2001ExpSport

Thank You for all the help. I guess what I'm looking for now is just an opinion based on experiance.

Bridgestone Dueller A/T P235/75 R15 (28.9 9.3 R15) or
Dayton Timberline A/T 30X 9.50 R15 LT

I know there isn't much difference in the sizes, but I think once I airdown the Daytons will work better.

This will be sooo much easier when I save up and get some BFG 31s or 32 if I can get them to fit.

As a rule of thumb, wider is better. Unless you compare them side by side, you don't know which one has the best tread pattern for your type of driving. Also, one might have a stronger sidewall. Don't go by size alone.

Slash--I like the line, it'll be so much easier when I save enough money so I can get BFG 31's or 32's if they will fit. Let me tell ya, there is no size, that won't fit :)
Pete

wider should be better but there are some places in Attica that wider ones won't be able to do, just like that little side road, shortcut around "the lake". See if you can get something that is more then 30X9.5. I have been always riding in Attica on my Wranglers RT/S's at 31X10.5. Bought them new for $300.00 including instalation. I might have these available later on when I get my 33's, maybe. Looks like the season is starting out good!

Can't wait for the Hooters Fest 2001!

Splash, I am serious. I will have 5 BFG MT 31's available in March. Maybe we can make a deal?

I need to start collecting numbers. You never know when you might need help out there.

Perhaps we can put a list of people with their addresses and phone numbers in case of emergency? what do you think?

my "Brand Spanking New" Smittybilt is in for sandblasting. After that I'll weld some extra light tabs, reinforce existing winch plate mounting tabs and paint it with some POR-15. This stuff is even better then powder.

Anyway, it's just me, rambling......

let me know about setting a "rescue" list.

Well, I am not going to call and ask for Splashman. Dead Link Removed

can I talk to 2001ExpSport???? is he home? no? OK. I'll call again later. (in my case it's simple but if this was someone else calling he might just say, "just tell him RFR2212 called"), thank you.

cool

Andre,

I think that’s an excellent idea. I wouldn’t want to post it on the Internet though. Maybe we can have an exchange of numbers at the Hooter-Fest 2001. Or maybe, if everyone wants to, you can e-mail me at niec@ericcameron.com and give me your number(s) and I’ll print out copies for everyone interested?

Let me know.

it's something else. I mentioned it to Rick as well. I would call it "Explorer Rescue Team". People would just sign up from the entire country, leaving their Name, City and State and their contact number in case someone needs help. We drive to other states once in a while, we travel all over our homeland but you never know when you might need someone's helping hand. That would be last resort but at least something. I know how busy we are and how much we have on our heads but just think about it, it might happen to you too.

Shall we do it here at home?

your feedback guys?

I think getting a local list would be great. The idea of the members of the site doing it might be a little rough, especially if you want to keep info like that off the net. How is someone to access the info, even if there were to be some type of "restricted" access to it? I don't travel with a laptop (yet), and if I did, where would I sign on in the middle of a corn field when I run into a jam?

MTX Terminator 8"

I really need to get rid of these, they are five years old, but they thump great. They each come in there own box and are designed to fit behind truck seats. I will hold off from going to the pwn shop if there is anyone that is going to the Hooterfest that is interested in them. I only want $20 apiece. They are in great shape. I never had them in the sun, so there is no sun damage or any thing. Any takers?

wheres monty hall?
this is lets make a deal now. ok, this could be fun, my buddy is selling a spare willow green cargo cover if any1 interested, came out of a 98 sport.

Bring them along. I’m sure someone will buy them if they are really in good shape.

I was talking about printing a list BEFORE you head out on your trip. That's in regards to a national list. You know where you're going so you print a list of people in the vicinity. When you need help you just dig out the list and start calling. Also, this would have to be password protected so other people can't use the list for their sick adventures. How about that????
