Afternoon all,

When we picked up our new to us '98 Explorer on Friday, upon checking the washer fluid reservoir, it was bone dry. Filled it up, and the pump does not pump. Does not even make a sound like it is trying to pump. The rear wiper gets fluid no problem.
Question is... do both the front and the back use the same pump? and if it is frozen, is it normal to get no sound at all? I tried a blow drier, but that doesn't seem hot enough. Any other thoughts besides driving it into my house or waiting 'till summer !

It's probably your switch, I have the same problem. Pump works up front if I pull the brights at the same time other wise only the rear works.

I'd check the relays along the left framerail in the engine compartment. There are two relays there that control the wipers and washer motor. I had to replace mine because my washer stopped working. They are wired kinda funky, so it's best to replace both relays at the same time.
