Ok so my '95 Xlt isnt spraying washer fulid for me and i did a search and all i found was stuff for new models. I need help troubleshooting. where are the relays how do i test the pump, is it fused, any thing you can think of. All that happens is, i push the button on the stick in and the wipers move but no spray. any help is appreciated.

thanks
pete

Pete, the pump itself is inside the bottom of your washer fluid resevoir.
They are really cheap at the parts stores and semi easy to replace.
it is held in place with a star washer that goes around the edge, just making a tight fit around the pump canister in between the plastic its mounted in.

To test the swtich (make sure it is the pump that has failed) you will need either a 12V test light or a multimeter. Have someone activate the sprayer while you test the two wires going into the pump (one is - other is +, when testing it doesnt matter which is which)

Hope that helps...

Before I messed with the electrical, I would check the actual fluid line. I don't know how many times I've seen those get clogged. Also check the sprayer nozzles on the wiper cowl. They too can get dirt in them.

Check the connection on the pump, check for loose or frayed connectors and bad contacts.

If you have your owners manual it tells you what fuse(s) are on that circuit. There may be a relay as well but I am not sure.
