Hey guys,
Hoping somebody can help me think through this.
I've got a 2001 Sport Trac that is completely caged, V8, etc. The only stock wiring left in the truck is the switches and wiring that is in the doors. I have all of the other harnesses and modules that I pulled out of the truck, and I am trying to figure out what my options are to get the power locks and windows working without putting the battery junction box, central junction box and GEM back in along with the miles of wires in between. Ive tried powering the door plug with a jumper wire, and I can get the window to move, but not with the switch, it just moves up when I power a certain pin, and down when I power another.

If it works out, i'd love to get the keyless entry working again also......

Putting the GEM in is not a big deal if it is needed, but i want to eliminate as much unneeded wire as I can.

I've got the Ford wiring diagrams, but I'm not smart enough to clearly read them.

Thanks for any help!

Brent

The master switch on the drivers door can be bad. All windows and locks run through it. Hard to check. Pick one up at a local auto parts and swap it in. If it don't fix it, return it.

Hi Brent. The windows will be easy since they are basically contained in the door wiring, which you kept. The windows have one main power wire and one main ground wire. The blue/black wire is the power wire.

Inspect the wires in the LF door jamb area, that's a common place where the twisting eventually breaks one or more wires. The door locks and windows have issues from a broken wire there, say maybe 1/2 of the time given the age of these trucks.

I don't know much about the lock system, besides the fact they use relays which are located in the LR quarter panel relay box. Those are the half size rectangular ones for 2nd gen Explorers.

The keyless entry may be connected with the GEM or PCM but hopefully not for the functions besides the alarm. You would need the code module at least, which is next to the LR quarter panel relay box.
