A couple months ago my transfer case went out or bad when messing with the brown wire mod. Now when driving, if I take my foot off the gas pedal and coast, it makes a grinding noise and quickly stops when I give it more gas. Im sure this is the transfer case and I know it needs to be replace but now my reverse is "slipping/popping out of gear" and making the same noise. This is now happening all the time. Is it my transfer case that causes reverse to stop? or is it my transmission? or both?

I would appreciate any information or help with this. Im new to this forum so sorry if I posted this in the wrong place or area

Thanks,
Brian

I don't know about the reverse, but I had the same problem with the transfer case. The transfer case problem is basically caused by a couple of inexpensive plastic bushings, which let the range slider slip out of gear (grinding). Pretty easy fix.
