New - used shoes

After the last Tahuya run, I've been gathering bits and pieces to 'fine tune' my current configuration and prepare for some new or at least newer rubber.

I added shackles from Ebay. These things are really thick and required new bolts. Then I removed one of the 5 leaves to soften things up a little and drop some of the height gained. This combination shold flex better sine the spring eye now has about 4" more travel.

My freeway vibration came back with a vengence then I remembered replacing the driveshaft on the BII before I made Kevin buy it. The double cardan shaft wants to see the trans output shaft and the pinion shaft parrallel to each other. I added 4* shims but it's still about 3* off. I'll pick up some 6* shims today.

Up front, I'm trying several things. The Duff coils have settled a bit so I'm trying some coil spacers. I think I'll get a set of cheap body lift pucks and cut them to several heights so I have a variety to choose from.

I picked up a Pro-Comp drop pitman arm to get the steering linkage closer to parrallel to the ground.

I also have a Trac-Loc rebuild kit. I'll change the clutch configuration and 'tighten' things up by running 4 plates per side instead of 3.

I've been watching Craigslist for a while and there have been lots of 35" MT's but few 33's,,,,until now. Hopefully I'm the first to respond to the posting and I'll get to see them today, http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/pts/633060908.html

I have seen the x-terrians on the trails a couple times and was not impressed with them, the BFG M/T does well here in washington

Get a solid axle under the front and be done with the vibration.

Thanks Joe!

Well Joe found me some new shoes:D

Anyone need some 6 lug rims?? Came off a Chevy.

Little bit of drive, once you get the tire off the rims put the rims on craigslist you should be able to get $100 for them easy, if they are as good as they look in the picture, or you can save the rims you may need them when you do your SAS:D

I was going to dump them on the side of the road in Mt Vernon:cool:

I think I've sanded them so much trying to make them round, the original balance has to be way off.

did you ever get your new tires mounted?

how are you liking them?

Love em!

They ride great on the highway and not too shabby off road either.

Now for lockers, gears, sliders, etc, etc, etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
