ALRITEY then haha after reading the replies on this thread, it seems the topic is in the wind by now so im gunna reel it back in

if u space out ur coils more than about 2.5'', its gunna be too much for the suspension to handle with stock control arms... i got 2'' bigger springs on the front and its great with a little wheel alignment and camber and toe adjustment, but 2 or 2.5 is the limit and 3 is pushing it... alot of fabs will be needed to pull this off but if it works then, hell, nice job and post some pics... and btw ur gunna need some bigass runners to cover all that frame shame... enough shows even with it stock... check out the pic..

this is with a 2'' lift on the front with a custom set of springs from coilsprings.com and 32s (265/75) that were put on a few days ago

your just a negative nancy! any time any one talks about a lift on here you have to chime in about your ywo inch coils. thats nothin, and you always talk about frame shame, all the third gens i have seen with body lift look pretty sweet when i'm rollin 35's i dont think pepole will say (look at his frame) so i will post picks when i'm done you just roll will your 2 inches.;)

hahaha dude r u serious? im one of the only ones on this site that has taken the lift into their own hands and figured it out.. im suggesting it to others because i thought it looked sweet... if u get this done, i wont be anything less than very impressed... im saying this because i dont want u to get it all done and then be riding down the street and ur suspension falls apart... just bringing them to ur attention... i guess thats being a "negative nancy"

i guess the body lift thing is an opinion, so sorry about hostilities towards u and ur family.. dont get so offended next time

stop it your yelling at me. you are not a nancy. you seem more like a sally.

from the use of the term negative nancy id have to assume he wasnt being serious.

Not sure what the hell is bein smoked in the meanderings of this thread, but i want some...

anyways, back on topic, and keep in mind its been a while since ive had myself under neath a 3rd gen. I know down travel is a bit limited to begin with, so the first concern i would have is a lack of downtravel to make it realistically driveable. 2nd comes the cv angles.... goes back to the whole tt thing. on the 95-01s 2 inches has been proven, many have gone over that with mixed results. something else to keep in mind, although ive never been able to see both axles side by side, so i dont know how their angles match up.

keep yourself resonable within the limits of the suspension and you should be fine. although unfortuneatly im not sure where those are.

Now with all that rambling, heres the meat and potatoes to my posting here. The douglas motorsport ptototype lift sat 2.5" of lift with i beleive was with all stock components. the kw prototype could have been that high as well

As far as i know theres no plans to, last i had heard, when i still had my truck, was that they had suspended that product indefinately with no definate plans to release it.

although having just said that i gave a look to double check and rancho is still showing those part numbers in their newest catalog...

someone might want to give them a ring

GO Dick D, hook us up! Give me 2.5" spacers then I'll add 2.5" boat rollers for BL and I think 5" will be OK.
Rancho, Smancho First 6/1 then Blah Blah Blah. Has anyone one received them yet? I got my money back form summit after they changed the price! I'll be damned if I'll pay 800.00 for modified a shocks. I think strut spacers are the ticket. That is what TRUXXX.com has done for expeditions which is the same set up as explorer. I contacted them, first about my 06 exped which I bought, then in relation to my 03 xplor. Their Customer service is 1ST class. I told them about Serious Explorations and all the Cats here that want lifts even 2.5 inches, their R&D is checking it out, they say it may be a legal issue since Explorers have a negative image with roll over. We'll see what they say, Darren Pilling a guy there said give them a couple of weeks and he will let me know. Fingers are x..

sounds pretty good... good research and way to take it in ur own hands... i agree with the rollover image, although people dont understand that 3rd gens were made wider and not as long to prevent rollovers as much as possible... and if u buy an suv, u should kno its gunna be topheavy no matter what... some people just dont get it

i ordered my body lift, and my quick lifts, i think i am going to try a 1" spacer on the back and a 1 1/2" on the front? if i need them to roll 35" tires? we'll see SOON!

Here's what TRUXXX had to say.

"Reality is, we are building some new “projects” for SEMA and I can’t see the Explorer getting any attention until after SEMA, we just won’t have the time to do it right…"

Well boys, looks like they have bigger fish to fry, but at least they did not slam the door. The Truxxx unit I purchased for my Expedition is so simple its sick. i have not had the time to install it yet but it looks like a breeze. Maybe if enough people make contact it will motivate them to action. I will take some pics of the unit and install. If any one has access to machining tools and equipment and think they can fab something for us let me know.
Well I gave it a shot.
